Embracing the Journey: A Woman with a Child and So Much More
About ten years ago, I sat at lunch with a good friend, engaged to my now-husband, and still in my twenties. Like everyone in their early years, I had a different perspective on life. As we enjoyed our meal, a group of moms sat at the table next to us, their conversation filled with tales of children, home life, and experiences far removed from my reality at the time. My friend turned to me and said, "That is going to be you soon." I laughed, confidently declaring, "No way! I will never be defined as a mom." In jest, I added, "I will be a woman with a child."
Fast forward nine years, and here I am, with my daughter about to turn six years old. While I am indeed defined as a mom, I am also so much more. I am a real estate agent, a nurse practitioner, a woodworker, and a wife, just to name a few. Yet, above all, I am a woman navigating the complexities of the world.
